12/5/23 Announcements: *This week, Mrs Plett's 4th hour class needs to take 2nd lunch. * Today OCCC will be here for college visit in Room 107. OKCU will be in the Counseling Office to give a presentation on Game Design and other graphic design opportunities. Please stop by and visit and make sure to sign in! *BSU is meeting at 3 to decorate the Media Ctr for the Speaker Series. All BSU members are asked to help out. *There will be a STOMP team interest meeting in the Media Center on Thursday, December 7th during advisory. *Sophomores-PreACT results can be picked up in the main counseling office now through December 20th. After that date they will be placed in inaccessible storage. *This Wednesday, there will be a meeting of Spanish Honor Society during Advisory. *Come take a stroll through the, never disappointing, FREE Bulldog Art Show. Open 1 night only, Thursday, December 7th from 5-7 pm. Bring your friends and family for fine art and refreshments! *Auditions for the 45th annual production of Follies will take place when we return from Winter Break. Performances are January 26th and 27th. Those wishing to audition with a well prepared act should sign using the QR codes on the audition flyers located around the school. The deadline to sign up for auditions is next Friday, December 15th. The EMHS Choirs would like to invite you to our Winter Choir Concert on TUESDAY, DECEMBER 5th @ 7PM in the EMHS Auditorium. Admission is FREE. These students have done some tremendous work for this concert! There is such a wide variety of songs and the talent will leave you with such JOY! Tenor Bass Chorus, Treble Chorus, Advanced Mixed Choir, and Act II Show Choir will be all featured on the concert along with some wonderful string players from our orchestra.

Semester Exams are December 19th and 20th. Schedule linked here. Taking semester exams early will only be allowed for family and medical emergencies. Any other reason must be approved by a principal and then, scheduled with their teacher the week of January 8th-12th. Students will not be allowed to be checked out during an exam or early from an exam.

As we prepare for the start of basketball season this week, we wanted to remind everyone of our updated policies and procedures for EPS athletic events. We very much appreciate everyone’s cooperation and understanding during our Fall athletic events and know that will continue through our other events. Here are the key points to remember: 1. Wear ID & Lanyard: All students attending any athletic event are required to wear their ID and lanyard. 2. High School Students - Designated Student Only Entrances: Students from both high schools will enter through designated doors. 3. Elementary and Middle School Students: For elementary/middle school students, an adult must be present with them when entering the doors. Students are expected to remain with their parents/guardian or in the designated cheering section throughout the event. 4. Students From Other High Schools: High school students from a school not participating in the game must also be accompanied by an adult. 5. No Bags Are Permitted: Bags will not be allowed through the entrance doors with the exception of a small clutch (4 ½ x 6 ½), medical or diaper bags. 6. No Athletic Equipment (Footballs, Basketballs, etc.) Permitted: Athletic equipment like basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, etc. won’t be allowed through the doors. Everyone should remain in the stands to enjoy the game. 7. Cheering Section Etiquette: We encourage enthusiastic participation in cheering for our teams. To ensure safety and order, please remain in the designated cheering areas. 8. Increased Security Presence: As part of our effort to ensure a safe environment for everyone, you’ll notice an increase in the number of security personnel and EPS staff and administrators at our events. Please help remind your students to be respectful to them, listen to their directions and follow our policies. As we’ve previously communicated, our commitment to maintaining a positive atmosphere requires responsible behavior from all attendees. Any disruption, disrespectful conduct towards community members, law enforcement officers, or school staff will result in immediate removal from the event. We value the collective enjoyment of our events and will not compromise on the experience for others. Again, thank you so much for your patience and understanding as we have worked to implement these changes. The new parking lot construction will be completed soon for our football stadiums. The parking lot north of the football will continue to be event parking, the new east lot will just be additional event parking and both will be closed during the day.

Fall Ball is this Saturday, November 11th at 7-10pm in the Lower Commons. Fall Ball tickets will be sold until November 10th before school and during first and second lunch. If they’re unable to purchase before the end of second lunch on the November 10th. Tickets will be sold at the door.

Good Morning and Happy November! Wow! It is hard to believe we are already in November, which means it's time for our Thanksgiving dinner. Thanksgiving dinner will be next Thursday, November 9. On this day we will have two serving lines for the Turkey feast which will include Turkey, Roll, mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, and a cookie. There will also be a variety of sides to choose from including Cranberry sauce. For the people that would like something different, on the deli line, for that day, we will serve a choice of baked potato, cheese burger or hamburger, chef salad, or a deli sandwich. We will also have a variety of sides to choose from on that side as well.

So please come down to that office wearing your badge for some candy...But only if you are wearing your badge!!! *International Club meeting today during advisory We will celebrate El Día de los Muertos. We have cookies to decorate and Pan de muerto. Halloween Costume Rules/Guidelines 10/31/23 Students may opt to wear Halloween costumes to school on October 31st. School rules regarding dress code must be followed: No masks of full face paint. Nothing that promotes the use of illegal substances or activities or are derogatory, disrespectful or depict violence. ALL costume preparations to be completed at home. (No dressing or applying of make-up or colored hairspray once students arrive at school). No short skirts/shorts/tutus no bare midriffs, no bare shoulders, or low necklines. No weapons of any kind (nun chucks/sickles/swords/knives/guns, etc). Students wearing inappropriate costumes will need to call home to have a change of clothes brought up to them. PARENTS: Please help support and appropriate, distraction-free learning environment for all students by assuring that your student adhere to these guidelines.

Our next restaurant fundraiser is Wednesday, November 1st at Jo’s Famous Pizza! Come support the band at lunch or dinner and drop your receipt in the “Jo Gives Back” box on your way out.
