2025 Recipient: The ComeBack Kid Society (CKS)

The ComeBack Kid Society (CKS) is a 501C3 nonprofit agency providing free mentoring programs for at-risk youth. Our mission revolves around offering unwavering support and invaluable resources to young individuals residing in foster group homes, juvenile detentions, treatment centers and our local communities, helping them to triumph over life’s challenges, cultivate resilience, and recognize their self-worth.

With a resolute vision to break the detrimental cycles of poverty, abuse, incarceration, and homelessness; we advocate for change and transformation. Through our six core components which include Foster Youth Empowerment, Education, Juvenile Justice Reform, Workforce Development, Teen Homelessness, and Mentoring Programs, we are steadfast in providing our students with the tools, guidance, and opportunities they need to rewrite their narratives, overcome adversity and make meaningful contributions to their communities.

We do not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, caste, tribe, gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status. We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.

What is SWINE Week?

Edmond Memorial High School’s enduring tradition of community service, Swine Week, traces its origins back to 1986 when a compassionate group of students rallied to raise funds for a friend in dire need of a kidney transplant. The initiative gained momentum with the backing of the principal, who supported the cause and committed to kissing a pig in a memorable act of solidarity. The inaugural event successfully raised $3,000, marking the inception of Swine Week.

Fast forward 39 years, and the students of EMHS have collectively amassed over $8 million in charitable contributions.

As we set our sights on the fundraising goals for 2025, we invite you to be a part of this impactful tradition. Your generosity has been instrumental in our past successes, and we trust that the spirit of giving will endure. For Swine Week 2025, EMHS has chosen The ComeBack Kid Society as the beneficiary.
