Edmond Public Schools has finalized its plan for graduation. After reviewing the results of our Graduation Planning Survey, with 567 seniors participating and 960 parents, the district has scheduled graduation ceremonies for 9:00 A.M., Saturday, July 25.

At that time, separate ceremonies will be held simultaneously at all three high school stadiums. Survey results showed that nearly 92% of seniors and 89% of parents felt July 25 was an acceptable date for graduation and preferred the July date over moving the ceremonies to another date in summer. Additionally, a majority of respondents (68% of seniors and 66% of parents), indicated they would prefer that the ceremonies be held at each of the three high school stadiums rather than at a single site.

Books and a graduation cap.

Health Directives:

Ceremonies will be subject to the health conditions and state and local gathering directives prior to and at the time of graduation. We will continue to monitor the course of COVID-19, as well as national and local health and safety guidelines; and we are prepared to make adjustments to the ceremonies if necessary.

To ensure social distancing, students will be limited to four tickets each and can pick up those tickets when they pick up diplomas and transcripts at their high schools, beginning next Monday, June 15. Tickets cannot be duplicated or transferred.

In the event of inclement weather, ceremonies will be held in the school auditoriums-with graduates only-at the same date and time.

School sites will be sending out more specifics about the individual ceremonies next week.

We greatly appreciate the feedback that has been provided by everyone involved in this process. We can’t wait for July 25 when we can honor and celebrate our seniors!
