Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Edmond Public Schools decided chromebooks and iPads will remain in students’ possession over the summer. The original plan of turning in these devices presented some logistical complications in complying with the governor’s state policies and continuing an online learning option at the start of school.
Since the instructional period is over, secondary student chromebooks will be disabled on June 6th. They are not broken or in need of maintenance, but unable to be utilized until the learning period resumes for next school year. Chromebooks checked out to students enrolled in EPS summer school will not be disabled. Each chromebook will be locked with a message on the screen stating it has been disabled by the administrator. Please place the device and charger in a safe location to ensure it does not get damaged. To accommodate this extended possession period, the Student Technology Protection Plan (STPP) is extended to August 12th for those who purchased it for the 19-20 school year.
